BETTTER US AND IT’S COMMITMENT TO SUSTAINABLE FASHION

Created by Julie Pelipas, a woman who has inspired me for many years, stylist of Vogue Ukraine and recently winner of recognition in the category «Leaders of Change, People» by the British Fashion Council; Bettter Us implements upcycling technologies taking them to a luxury scenario.

With the rise of a more conscious and sustainable fashion production system, which seeks the maximum use of textiles. Bettter Us, the five-year-old tailoring firm, operates as a multifaceted platform with a shared purpose; guarantee the production of suits with impeccable tailoring and the production of each collection is sustainable.

With the slogan: «BETTTER UPCYCLING SYSTEM ENGINEERING A BETTER FUTURE» it identifies the improvements of textile production technologies as an essential factor in the transition towards a sustainable society.

Julie recently told Business of Fashion: «Bettter works as a series of adaptive algorithms, designed to take the complexity out of reconstruction. I’ve spent years disassembling seam-by-seam suits and using digital design and adjustment software to map virtual patterns and necessary adjustments.»

One of my favorite collections: 32 styles inspired by the modern woman; A mother, a worker, who faces the strong daily life of a fierce pace of life, elevated with a chic aesthetic. Masculine cuts reinforce the essence of the brand and of its founder Julie Pelipas. Ernest Hemingway, Kazimir Malevich and Paraska Plytka – Horytsuit, have been primary sources of inspiration in the creation of each piece.

Large firms currently join the efficient use of resources, reuse, and transformation of garments. The idea of fashion conceived as ephemeral, predatory and unsustainable is losing strength. We welcome new proposals and initiatives that aim to take advantage of a long life of textiles, avoiding pollution by waste.
